2019 WWV Estate Mourvèdre - Grenache - Syrah

2019 WWV Estate Mourvèdre - Grenache - Syrah
Walla Walla Valley

We have been experimenting with Mediterranean varietals for years now, and are excited about this release of our Walla Walla Valley Estate Mourvèdre - Grenache - Syrah blend. Fermented with native yeasts and a spontaneous malolactic fermentation, this blend will change from year to year to produce a wine inspired by some of our old world favorites. This wine was produced from grapes grown at Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard (Salmon Safe certified) at the western edge of the Walla Walla Valley.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This wine is dark cherry red in color with aromatics of serrano ham, oil, cured olive, and ripe plum. In the mouth, there are flavors of vanilla and ripe red fruits that evolve nicely into a smooth mouthfeel, and a classic Walla Walla character. Its ripe fruit and acidity make it a very food-worthy wine to be enjoyed with Mediterranean cuisine. This wine will benefit from more bottle aging, and with proper cellaring, it should age well for up to ten years.
93 POINTS - Vinous: A blend of 50% Mourvèdre with the reminder equal parts Grenache and Syrah, the 2019 Mourvèdre-Syrah-Grenache Estate is a gorgeous blend by Woodward Canyon that reveals impeccable balance. Bright red fruits and orange rind combine with tar, wet stone, tobacco leaf, and smoked pork shoulder on the palate. The complexity and range here are gorgeous. Best consumed over the next decade.
