There is varietal purity in this Sauvignon Blanc yet still it expresses a very distinct sense of place.

There is varietal purity in this Sauvignon Blanc yet it still expresses a very distinct sense of place. This wine is light straw in color and absolutely brilliant. The nose begins with lively flavors of melon, ripe white peach, and spice. The fruit is balanced with nuanced minerality and crisp acidity, the texture is layered and rich. Serve this wine very well chilled with Pacific Northwest seafood.
Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard. All grapes are sustainably grown at our Walla Walla Valley Estate Vineyard. Additionally, the vineyard and this wine are designated Salmon Safe.
This is the fifteenth vintage of Walla Walla Valley Sauvignon Blanc produced from our Estate grown fruit. The 2018 vintage was somewhat earlier ripening allowing for full physiological ripeness at just under 21 brix. Somewhat surprisingly, the yield was smaller than was 2017 at about 2.8 tons per acre. Four different sauvignon blanc clones were hand harvested, sorted and whole cluster pressed. Settled juice was chilled and cold fermented in stainless steel; this wine did not go through malo-lactic fermentation. After primary fermentation the wine was aged in neutral Sirugue French oak for additional complexity and roundness.
