Our oldest block cabernet sauvignon, grown on shallow basalt terraces, produces average yields of less than two tons per acre. Our efforts toward sustainable wine growing began in 2004 and are clearly improving the grapes and wine
from the Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard. All grapes were harvested by hand and sorted prior to crushing. This wine was fermented with Woodward Canyon native yeast, and it was punched down two times per day. After pressing and settling, this wine went directly to new French oak barrels for additional aging and maturation. This is the seventh vintage of our Walla Walla Valley Estate Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon.
