This 2005 Colombia Valley White Riesling is produced from grapes grown at Champoux and Dubrul Vineyards. Both hill top vineyards are extremely well situated and the soils are comprised of sand, silt and rocks. The average age of the grapevines is twenty years, with yields of no more than 3 tons per acre. All of which contributes greatly to the character of the grapes and the resulting wine.
This wine shows beautiful richness of ripe peach and nectarine yet is very nicely balanced. It definitely shows the characteristics of the warm 2005 vintage. And though predominantly Champoux Vineyard fruit, the very small portion of DuBrul fruit brings a complex richness to this wine, making it the perfect wine to enjoy well chilled just before dinner. My 85 year old mother loves this wine! Well, actually, I like it too. Enjoy!
